Fractions, 4 ways
Four ways your child sees a fraction.
- Follow the tracker. It tells which levels to practice each day.
- One-time setup. Place all the cards according to the instructions.
- Review the cards. Pick a card, answer the question. Right answers advance; tricky ones cycle back. A session ends when all cards for that day have been reviewed.
- Mastery. Cards graduate to MASTERED once they've cleared all 5 levels. When all 240 cards are there, your child can read and name any fraction on sight.
Each deck uses the Leitner System, a proven method based on cognitive science that helps your child's brain move what they learn from short-term to long-term memory efficiently. This system:
- Adapts to your child's learning pace. Fractions they know well appear less frequently.
- Focuses time where it's needed. Trickier cards get more practice automatically.
- Builds lasting retention. What your child learns this way sticks for years, not weeks.
- Prevents overwhelm. Your child practices just the right amount each day.

Frequently Asked Questions
What grade is CueCards Fractions for?
Best fit is Grades 3 through 4 (ages 8 to 9). It also works for older children who need to catch up on fractions. If your child is just starting fractions, plan to sit with them for the first few days until the routine takes hold.
Which cards should my child start with?
All 240 cards work as one deck. Your child picks at random, and the 5-level system handles which cards come back when.
The color-coded decks also make it easy to pull out a single question type and practice it on its own, whenever you like. Cards your child already knows move up quickly, so practice focuses on what's still new.
My child is new to fractions. Is this too advanced?
No. Every card pairs the fraction with a visual, so the cards teach as they test. Your child starts by simply seeing and naming fractions, the gentlest way into the topic.
What does Level 1 cover?
Level 1 gives your child a confident grip on what a fraction is: naming it, writing it, placing it on a number line, and telling proper, improper, and mixed apart. Comparing and calculating come later.
