Frequently Asked Questions

What grade is CueCards Fractions for?

Best fit is Grades 3 through 4 (ages 8 to 9). It also works for older children who need to catch up on fractions. If your child is just starting fractions, plan to sit with them for the first few days until the routine takes hold.

Which cards should my child start with?

All 240 cards work as one deck. Your child picks at random, and the 5-level system handles which cards come back when.

The color-coded decks also make it easy to pull out a single question type and practice it on its own, whenever you like. Cards your child already knows move up quickly, so practice focuses on what's still new.

My child is new to fractions. Is this too advanced?

No. Every card pairs the fraction with a visual, so the cards teach as they test. Your child starts by simply seeing and naming fractions, the gentlest way into the topic.

What does Level 1 cover?

Level 1 gives your child a confident grip on what a fraction is: naming it, writing it, placing it on a number line, and telling proper, improper, and mixed apart. Comparing and calculating come later.
