Frequently Asked Questions

What grade is CueCards Addition & Subtraction for?

Best fit is Grades 1 through 2 (ages 6 to 7). Younger children (ages 4 to 5) can make a great start with the facts within 5 and within 10, and older children can use the deck to rebuild fluency. If your child is just starting out, plan to sit with them for the first few days until the routine takes hold.

Which facts should my child start with?

All 240 cards work as one deck. Your child picks at random, and the 5-level system handles which cards come back when.

The color-coded ranges let you match the starting point to your child: children just starting can begin with facts within 5, then add within 10 and within 20 as they progress, while older children can use the full deck from day one. Cards your child already knows will move up quickly, so practice focuses on what's still new.

My child is just learning to add and subtract. Is this too advanced?

No. Every card carries a visual that shows how to reach the answer. The cards teach as they test, so start with facts within 5 and grow into within 10 and 20 as your child is ready.
