Frequently Asked Questions

What grade is CueCards Multiplication & Division for?

Best fit is Grades 3 through 4 (ages 8 to 9). Older children can use the deck to rebuild fluency before moving on to long multiplication and long division. If your child is just starting out, plan to sit with them for the first few days until the routine takes hold.

Should my child learn multiplication before division?

All 240 cards work as one deck. Your child picks at random, and the 5-level system handles which cards come back when.

Practicing both together helps: every division fact is a multiplication fact in reverse, so knowing 3 × 4 = 12 makes 12 ÷ 3 = 4 easy. Cards your child already knows will move up quickly, so practice focuses on what's still new.

My child is still learning the times tables. Is this too advanced?

No. Every card carries a visual that shows how to reach the answer: equal groups, a number line, repeated addition or subtraction, or an array. The cards teach as they test.
